Common Workflows
Step-by-step recipes that tie everything together.
1. Launch a paid course from zero
Register → Build website → Set up payments → Create course → Add content → Publish → Share
- Account — register and sign in.
- Website — Websites → Themes → pick a template, name your site. It's live right away.
- Payments — Config → Payment → add your provider keys and switch the toggle on. Skip this and paid checkout won't work.
- Course — Courses → New Course → choose Paid, set your price, attach it to your site.
- Content — In the Course Builder, add sections with videos and quizzes. (Protected videos need your VdoCipher key under Config → Video.)
- Publish — Course Builder → Access → switch to Paid. Check the page preview first.
- Share — send out your website link. Watch your first sales arrive on the Home page. 🎉
2. What happens when a student buys
- A student visits your website and creates their account there.
- At checkout they see the payment options you've enabled.
- They pay — the money goes directly to your payment account.
- They instantly get access to the course.
- You see the sale under Purchases, the student under Users, and the revenue on Home.
Free courses work the same, just without the payment step.
3. Keep an eye on your sales
- Check Home daily — revenue tile and Recent Sales.
- On Purchases, look at the Failed tab now and then. Many failures usually mean a payment setup issue — verify your keys and that you're in Live mode in Config.
- Refund requests? Handle them in your payment provider's dashboard.
4. Win back inactive students
- Users → Students tab → spot people with old "last active" dates.
- Communication → select their course or website → write a friendly nudge → Send.
- Watch Active This Week on the Users page over the following days.
5. Refresh your website's look
- Small changes: Edit Site and click what you want to change.
- New fonts: Websites → Design → Typography.
- Whole new look: Themes → Use theme creates a fresh site alongside the old one — switch when it's ready and delete the old site.
6. Prepare a course launch with "Coming soon"
- Create the course and set access to Coming soon — it shows on your site with a teaser label.
- Build your content in peace; the outline stays hidden.
- Announce the date with an email from the Communication Hub.
- On launch day, flip access to Paid (or Free) — it's instantly buyable.
